C-5

Avoided Bayani road traffic by taking C-5 to work. Thought I'd give myself a pat on the back for deciding to do so because driving was a breeze soon as I got to Heritage Park--until I got to the Market!Market! exit that is.

Traffic! But not your usual traffic. Sometime during my easy breezy drive for some reason all hell broke loose under the bridge. From across the top of a white sedan I could see a group of kids shouting and throwing big rocks and glass bottles at vehicles (or at each other) in broad daylight then running in my direction to gather MORE rocks. I had to wedge my car between two tall trucks to avoid being caught in the crossfire--intentionally missing the exit altogether because I was too near where 2 of the kids started gathering rocks. These kids were up on trucks, and running around and across the highway while everything else was on standstill. INTENSE. Scariest 15 minutes of my life! It was like being in the middle of a gang war and we were the innocents caught in between. I don't even know what's worse--the fact that their ages ranged from 9 to 14 or the fact there apparently was no reason for them to be throwing things anyway 'cept maybe they were all rugby-ed up.

Guess I'll have to go back to going thru Fort from now on. Man, I miss living close to work.
